CMA Study Boredom

How do you all study without getting completely bored out of your mind after about 10min? I’ve probably started and stopped studying 10 times.

I have Becker and have tried every method I can think of. Watch the videos first at different speeds, reading the text first, go to the questions first, and combinations of all three. I‘m interested in learning the information, but to me, the presentation of the information is terrible.

Helping those in need.

My parents, who have been DEEP CoCers for about 50 years recently told me about a fundraiser for “Jason” (not his real name) and his family. A few years ago Jason and his wife quit their jobs to be the full time youth minister and “praise leader” of this CoC, which has 200 attendees on a good day and about 20 children of those attendees. Now Jason is about to lose his house because being a full time youth minister pays below minimum wage in that church, but he’s confident god will help him. What’s the solution? An inter-church fundraiser for Jason and his family! Never mind that Jason and his wife quit their full time jobs to work 4 hours, 1 day a week, they were called by god!

What communion was and what it is today.

”Communion“ in the 1st century was a way for those oppressed by the Romans to meet in someone’s house, decompress, share a meal, and maybe read a section of a scroll.

Today, my old CoC has turned communion into a performative ritual complete with expensive lighting and sound equipment that is led by a man in skinny jeans and manicured facial hair wearing a headset microphone, telling everyone unless they get dunked in the tank behind him, they can’t eat the special bread and drink grape juice.
