Merci !

CROUS Grenoble: What's the best studio to target for SMH campus?

Hey everyone,

I'm applying for a CROUS studio this Tuesday. My classes are on the main Saint-Martin-d'Hères (SMH) campus.

Since I can only apply to one residence at a time during this phase, I need to choose wisely:

  1. I'm looking at Le Cadran Solaire and Maison des Étudiants (MDE). Are these realistic targets, or will they fill up instantly?
  2. What other campus studios should I look out for that give me a better chance of actually getting accepted?
  3. If I apply the exact minute the portal opens, do I stand a good chance?

Thanks!

Entry-level cybersecurity career advice?

Hi everyone,

I’m a recent Computer Science graduate currently studying CCNA and interested in cybersecurity.

I don’t have any IT professional experience yet apart from two software development internships.

What entry-level roles should I realistically be targeting to break into cybersecurity (SOC, networking, IT support, etc.)? And what helped you get your first role?

Any advice is appreciated.

Struggling with consistency (Only on Day 20 of JITL). Should I reschedule or cancel my exam booking?

Hey everyone,

I need some honest advice / a bit of a reality check. I haven't been consistent with my studying at all. I'm using Jeremy's IT Lab as my main resource, and right now, I'm only up to Day 20.

My exam was originally supposed to be in a few days (May 28th), which obviously isn't happening. I absolutely have to push it back, but I'm torn on what to do next.

I have two options and I can't decide which is better for my mindset:

  1. Reschedule it: Move it to a tentative "best guess" date a month or two out just to keep a deadline on the horizon and a fire under my seat.
  2. Cancel it entirely: Drop the booking completely for now, clear my head, and only rebook a brand new date once I've actually finished the content and am hitting 80%+ on Boson ExSim.

For context, I can study full time now, but forcing 3-4 days of material a day completely burns me out and breaks my consistency. If anyone has been in a similar spot with consistency blocks, did you find it better to keep a floating deadline on the calendar, or did you wait until you were truly ready to book?

Thanks in advance.

Hello everyone,

I’m a 22M currently diving deep into my CCNA prep. I started a few months ago, but after some inconsistency and a rescheduled exam, I’m ready to get serious and cross the finish line.

I am currently not working, so I can commit to long, daily study sessions. I’m looking for someone to sync up with every morning to stay on track and hold each other accountable.

  • Timezone: CET (Central European Time)
  • Schedule: Preferably morning starts
  • Availability: High (Full-time study)

If you're in a similar boat, shoot me a DM!
