Apparently Apple allowed it starting iOS 16 - https://www.iphonelife.com/content/how-to-connect-your-airpods-to-different-iphone-or-ipad

Why does Apple allow this? Is there a way to prevent my Airpod to be paired to someone else's phone? It was setup with my my hearing chart and now I don't know if it is still valid!
