I’m looking to expand my Cattleya collection, but I have a very specific climate profile. My setup is heavily geared towards warm/hot growing species, and many traditional Cattleyen that need a cool winter rest to bloom won't work for me.

I already know about Cattleya violacea, so I'm looking for other species that will thrive in these exact parameters:

Summer: 24°C to 31°C (75°F - 88°F)

Rest of the year / Winter (Day): 24°C to 26°C (75°F - 79°F)

Rest of the year / Winter (Night): 18°C to 20°C (64°F - 68°F) – it never gets colder and i can't change that.

Humidity: Consistently high year-round between 75% and 90%

Lighting: Monitored and optimized via PPFD (LEDs)

Since my winter nights rarely drop below 18°C–20°C and daytime temps stay warm, I need species that don't require a cold winter drop to trigger flowering, and can handle high humidity during the winter months without rotting.

Which Cattleya species would you recommend that absolutely love staying warm and humid all year long?

I’m looking into getting a Cattleya lueddemanniana rubra for my indoor setup, but I want to make absolutely sure my temperature and humidity profile fits its specific needs before pulling the trigger.

Here are the exact specs of my environment:

From what I’ve read, C. lueddemanniana is a warm-growing species from coastal Venezuela, so I feel like my summer heat and high humidity should make it pretty happy. However, I’m slightly worried about my winter/off-season night drops down to 18°C (64°F) combined with that very high humidity.

Has anyone grown lueddemanniana successfully in similar conditions?

Do you know other cattleyas that would bloom in this setup?
