Final update: He’s dead Jim. G&T and my neighbor’s tree

Well, the eastern hemlock finally fell. If you had your money on it hanging on and lasting way longer than anyone expected, you win. Also if you had your money on the tree being toast, you win again!

It did no damage coming down. Well, a little bit to the shrubbery. I’m going to call a certified arborist. I can’t tell which way one of the major trunks is going to fall. If they’re both clear, I’ll let nature do its work again.

Anyway, it was hot af today, so now… time for the G&T. Thanks for coming on the ride

Update: G&T and my neighbor’s tree

We have had multiple tornado producing storms since I last posted this beauty 10 days ago. During last night’s storms, a different neighbor lost a hickory, and my friend’s tree lost a big limb. This Eastern Hemlock? Just keeps on going.

The plan is the same. Drink a G&T and don’t die

So, I tip my drink to you. Keep doing your thing

I took the day off to help everyone else. I’m tired

Chainsaw? Uh, no. Gin & tonic in a comfortable chair at a respectful distance?

Also, u/farfly7 this update is for you, as requested

Note: No homes, children, or pets are at risk. There is a shrubbery

A beautiful eastern hemlock in my neighbor’s yard. We’re going to let nature take its course on this one. No houses, children, or pets at risk
