Babysitting opportunities in hackney?

Hello there.

Is there any community, app where I could find babysitting jobs?

I have a fully time job in finance but enjoy babysitting. So not doing it for money as much.

I studied and worked as a teacher and I have done babysitting when I was a student and now do it occasionally for my friend for free but they live too far (south London). Happy to provide references if needed.

Thinking if I can find it somewhere here in Hackney.

was literally chased by some old man with a stick in dalston.

Today in Dalston, an elderly man with a stick and (from what I could see) some mental illness started literally chasing us.

He is skinny, looked Mediterranean, gray short hair slightly wavy), a bit of gray facial hair. Didn’t look homeless to me. Looked 65 or so. Anyone seen him before?

Me 31F and my friend 31M were passing him and I gave that man a quick smile, he changed direction, and started going after us. We crossed the road, so did he. We didn’t want to fight an old man, only for him to get hurt or end up dead. So we were literally running away from him and changing directions, he would do the same. After doing 5-7 direction turns to follow us, we lost the sight of him.

It was very weird - like a nightmare where you are chased and almost caught. No clue what he wanted as I am not even sure he can talk.

I have been using windows laptop and iphone.

The worst when it comes to transferring photos. But I been managing for few years and got a fair amount of photos all on SSD. Cloud is a no-no as I try to live subscription free. So I have to keep my photos on SSD.

Anyway, I am moving to ipad air m4 to use it as a kind of replacement for a laptop (hope it works, otherwise will buy a mac at a later date)

My current SSD is a USB port one.
Am I current in understanding that if I buy a NVMe SSD with a USB C Port, copy things from my old SSD (maybe via a windows laptop I will borrow at work) I will be able to access photos on that new SSD from my ipad air?

How smooth will that be?

Or is there no way to do that with an ipad?

Thanks!

Hi all. Thank you all for your help here.

I signed AST with LL for the entire flat and they let me sublet other rooms in 2024. I paid the deposit. I don’t think they protected it.

One year later, I asked to add my bf to the contract. They agreed. We did not pay any additional amounts and my old deposit was utilised.

In the new agreement it was written that the deposit is fully paid by me and to be returned to me. They protected the deposit then but in my bf name only. Even though he didn’t pay at all. So they protected the money one year later but in wrong name.

Now another year after, I ask to leave the agreement. They agree. I have them confirmed on the email they don’t have any claims to me and they are signing a new contract with bf. They haven’t signed one with him yet - as they are trynna sell and being shady signing rn. But they told me I was good. So it’s my ex’s problem now (I assume no concerns for me?)

Can I claim for compensation for unprotected deposit?

Also, Is it okay that at some point during tenancy I stopped living at the property after we broke up- only my bf and he would sublet (they knew about sublet and it’s written in the agreement as well. I think I also said I was not living there to them - I don’t recall. I had to stay on the contract because my bf wouldn’t have passed affordability checks). Would that cause any issues for me legally?

I also know LL should have HMO license but did not and do have one - I don’t feel like screwing them over that much to get them in trouble for that and get RRO and other punishments but could potentially use it as collateral.

I saw online steps on how to claim compensation. I assume they are good to follow but if you have better advice for me in this case, please do tell, suggest and advise Thank you.
