When do they release ticket info for the parties the week after Ultra Europe for the islands off of Split? My friend and I just realized we’re going to be there for that and can’t find info anywhere. Thank you beautiful people!!
On Saturday, I was at Tripolee and had split from my friends to meet up with another crew in GA. I was walking up a hill when suddenly, the entire sole of my boot completely detached from my shoe.
Like… fully came off. Gone.
Two girls nearby saw it happen, grabbed the sole, and handed it back to me, which was so sweet! But then I immediately realized my camp was all the way back in Good Life. I was so bummed thinking I was about to make the saddest one-shoed journey across the Forest just to change shoes alone.
Then, somehow, I spotted a boutique with boots and walked over to see if I could save the day. I tried on a pair, loved them, and then found out they were $920… so that dream ended very quickly.
Defeated and fully accepting my fate, I was about to start the long trek back to the good life camp with one shoe on when the boot vendor told me they had a “shoe graveyard” where people leave behind their old shoes after buying new ones. She handed me a pair that were iridescent and matched my outfit better than my old ones, and had me try them on. They were my size!
And then, to my complete surprise, she gave them to me. No charge nothing, just a lovely person helping another.
I was genuinely almost in tears. It was such a kind, thoughtful, perfectly timed little miracle.
So shoutout to the two girls who helped me, the amazing vendor who saved my night, and the person who left behind the purple boots I ended up adopting. This was my first Forest, and it truly felt like one of those moments where the Forest provided. I hope next year I’m able to pay it back the same way!
