Future announcement?

Hey all! Now i know no one actually knows when the next announcement will be posted. However, for those who have been in the process for the past couple years or even those who are just familiar with the history of when Diversion Investigator was posted for the last several years. Could anyone possibly guesstimate when they believe another announcement may come up again? I know the most recent one had a large cap so Im curious to know whether they would still open another posting this year or next. Im hoping so. Thanks in advance!

Calling all dinosaurs! Career change at 39?

Hey folks, the heading was just to get everyone's attention lol. However, the topic is very much true. I am considering a career change and I am wondering how it has worked out for all those who chose the same around my age or even older. I am turning 39 in a couple days and I am really looking for a change. It sometimes seems like this type of jump is an extreme risk. For further context, I have worked for local govt for 15 years (law enforcement agencies). More of an HR role. However, I have always wanted to go federal. Still sticking to law enforcement, as that is where I believe I have found my passion. The part that sucks is that I have aged out of all of the federal LEO positions (if anyone knows of some others without the age max then by all means list them). For anyone who made a huge change, how did it go? What field did you go in? Was it a hard transition? Extra points if you have small kiddos like me (2 and 9yo). I am in a major metro city where there is a plethora of federal opportunities, so that's half the battle. But the competition is stiff, so it can be a bit discouraging. Any tips, tricks or just plain ol advice.
