Thirty days ago, I opened #Juneleb with first impressions, the version of Caleb you started with. Today, we’re going to contrast with who he is to you right now vs. when you first arrived. What has he become to you since then?

We have spent June turning him over in the light. We did the senses, the futures, the careers, the dreams, the small details, photoshoots, goofy polls, and had a lot of fun along the way. Somewhere in all of that, the Caleb you started the game with (or just the month with) and the Caleb you are holding right now probably changed a bit in the new light, or got a lot more specific, or finally clicked into focus in a way he had not before.

Who was he to you in the beginning (or on June 1) and who is he to you now? Maybe nothing changed and you just love him louder. Maybe one detail this month quietly rearranged the whole picture. Maybe you walked in for a trope and walked out understanding the man underneath it. Maybe you cannot put it into words yet and you just know the shape of him is different now, and that counts too. (Believe me when I say it took me months before I was able to put my own thoughts about him into coherent words)

Pip-squeak, today's #Juneleb assignment is simple and completely normal*: describe Caleb with any or all of your five senses.

Sight, Smell, Sound, Touch, Taste

Give us the details about him that live in your nervous system. One sense is plenty, or whole essays about any number of senses up to all five if your brain is as unwell about this man the way mine is.

*"Normal" is being used loosely, generously, and possibly fraudulently. Have fun ;)

Okay sunny apples, a few days out from the end of #Juneleb, and I want to give one to the secret lore: the small details the game shows you instead of telling you, the ones you can play right past unless you happen to be looking at the right corner of the screen at the right moment, or you catch on your 5th playthrough.

The loud canon gets celebrated constantly, and it should. Today is for the quiet canon, the show-not-told stuff, the things nobody narrates at you. The fun lore details that reward those of us who are paying close attention! (also why I tagged this in 'lore' today rather than discussion)

Tell me yours: detail about him you picked up on and could not put back down. A background object, a repeated gesture, a UI choice, a single frame, a thing in a card you only caught on the third rewatch. A reference to one card that you caught from another card's story. Some of those details are innocuous fun easter eggs, and others may be critical story points or things we learn about him and his life or story.

Two house rules so nobody gets spoiled before they are ready:

1. Say where your detail is from (card, memory, chapter, event), so people can read at their own pace.
2. If your detail is a deep cut, from a recent release from the last few months, from an advanced gameplay (ie: unlocked above lvl 100 affinity), or delves into a critical reveal or story twist or things like that, tuck it behind a spoiler tag to be kind. (That said, I have already tagged this entire post with a blanket spoiler tag, and labeled the title as containing spoilers for everything currently published. All comments are assumed spoilers in this thread by that nature, but it'd still be nice for people to be able to browse at their own pace and know what specific content might be spoiled if they click further)

How to spoiler-tag (because I also never remember): wrap your text exactly like >!this example!<, with no spaces between the marks and the first and last letters of your words, and it becomes a grey tap-to-reveal bar. That is a greater-than sign, an exclamation point, your text, then an exclamation point and a less-than sign.

Alright my little apple pies,

Yesterday we laid out our wishlists and dreamed up the cards we want the LaDs devs to make. Today, we aren't dreaming a "wouldn't it be cool to see...", we're just looking down the road and imagining life together in the future.

Not your first date, or first kiss, nor the big milestones we have swooned over all month. We're looking ahead at the ordinary "forever". The version of the two of you somewhere down the line, where the newness of being together has quietly worn into something deeper and the love has stopped being an event and just become the furniture of the day. The unremarkable, on-paper-boring stuff.

Paint us a random weekday years in! The morning routine you both settled into without ever deciding to. The argument you have had a hundred times that is not really an argument anymore. Who he gets to be once the missions are behind him and nobody smaller than him needs saving that afternoon. The small thing he does now that he would have been too guarded to do back in year one. The completely uneventful Tuesday you would pick over any grand adventure.

Cozy or bittersweet both belong here (forever is a loaded word for a man whom canon keeps trying to take things from, and the yearners in the back, we see you too!). One soft snapshot of a peek into a single moment of this future together is plenty. Or, a whole imagined life is also extremely welcome!

We have also heard your concerns about whether future content can continue to be delivered consistently without compromising on quality.

Please be assured that the Love and Deepspace development team has continued to grow since the game's launch. The Main Story chapters you have been waiting for are currently in active development. The stories of Farspace Colonel Caleb and Onychinus Leader Sylus will continue, and the new series of Solar-Slot Memories will also be arriving soon. The development team will continue to deliver richer game experiences and high-quality content on a consistent basis.

We also understand that these concerns are not simply about the pace of updates. They come from how deeply you care about Love and Deepspace and the love interests who have been by your side throughout this journey. It is because you cherish every moment you have shared with them that you hope this companionship will continue for many years to come.

For this reason, we want to make this commitment to you: the stories, companionship, and future of every love interest will always remain an essential part of the long-term plans for Love and Deepspace. This will not change for any reason.

It can be anything. A theme you'd like to see turned into a card or AU. The era or the AU the game has only hinted at. The piece of his past you want canonized. A moment we already got that you want pulled apart and explored deeper. The exact scene you've been waiting two years for. Headcanon arcs count too. If you've got a vibe, a whole story or just some of the plot beats outlined in your head, this is the place for it.

We have kept it light for a few days, so today we go somewhere with more shadow. Buckle up, Pipsqueak.

There is Gege: The one who is soft with you, who laughs and teases and worries and makes breakfast and lets you see the warmth he does not hand out to anyone else. And then, there is the Colonel: The colder one, who has harder edges and a longer reach, who makes difficult choices and whose devotion does not always stay inside safe lines.

Some people only see him as one or the other: Liam only sees the Colonel. Gideon sees Caleb as he was before the fleet. Today is about the moment you (and we) get both: the flip-switch.

The moment the soft one goes still and something harder surfaces, or the lingering pause where the cold one cracks and the tenderness leaks through anyway. The line he says in the gentle voice that is actually a little frightening once you sit with it. The thing the Colonel does that is unmistakably love, just love that has stopped asking permission. Caleb holding both of these at once, and what it costs him to hold them, is the most interesting thing about him to a lot of us, and today is the day for it.

So tell us your flip-switch moment. The canon scene where the mask slips, a headcanon about what it takes for him to keep the two sides apart, your read on his struggle to hold onto the soft, human parts of himself when so much of his life demands (and is built for) something colder. Lean as far into the dark as you want, or stay in the ache of it if you want. Spoiler-tag the deep cuts so everyone can read at their own pace.

There is no wrong version of Caleb to love, but there's still something magic about the tension in that liminal space between two sides, isn't there?

Today we are snooping. If you got thirty unsupervised seconds with Caleb's phone, what would you do?

Tell us what he has on his lock screen and his wallpaper. The app notifications and texts sitting there waiting for his attention. What is his most-used app, what does he have you saved as, and what is the one screenshot, app, or folder he would die before letting you see? What's written in his notes app, or stored on his camera roll?

Build him a whole phone or just give us one perfect detail. Canon, headcanon, whatever feels right.

Show us what you found, detectives!

Pipsqueaks! We have been soft and earnest and a little wrecked all week, particularly the last few days, so today we are doing the opposite. No feelings required, no lore, no analysis. Just the funny.

What meme is Caleb? Not necessarily the sweet one that reminds you of him, but the unhinged one. The reaction image that is his entire personality in one frame. The comment he would send you at 2am with zero context and total confidence you would get it. The format he would overuse in the group chat until everyone begged him to stop.

Drop the image, or describe it if you cannot post one, or slap a "he would 100% send this" caption on something already saved on your phone. The dumber the better. We have earned a stupid, silly day.

Bring your worst (best). Gege would want it that way.

We are in a waiting stretch, but it'll be okay: Caleb has basically trained us for it. Because the thing about him is that he always comes back. <3

Every goodbye or delay is secretly a "see you soon" wearing the wrong outfit. We know he'll make it happen.

So while we wait for whatever comes next, let us sit in the reunions we already have. Comforting stories and saved voice lines that remind you he's always thinking of you. The things that remind us that he's always thinking about returning to your side. The reunion you want to see, or the reunion you're waiting for are also valid; yearning is part of the package, after all.

No deep read required. Just bring the reunion and let us pile them up, because a room full of comfort and "he comes back" is a pretty good place to wait.

Pipsqueaks, today we're getting into his head a little.

Caleb's the type to keep small, meaningful things. So picture his taste for a second: the line in a book he'd dog-ear, the song he'd replay for the one lyric that hits just right, or the moment in a movie that quietly got to him.

What line would Caleb keep?

Share the quote, tell us where it's from, and tell us why it's so him. And if you want to flip it: what's the line you'd save for him?

Somewhere out there is a version of Caleb who never joined the Fleet. Never strapped into a cockpit. Maybe that version of him never had to be the most capable person in the room just because he had no other choice.

What do you think he'd be if his life went a different direction?

For Juneleb day 19, we're imagining another timeline & life for Caleb. Maybe he's got a job you can actually picture him clocking into. A chef with his own restaurant? A musician/performer? An engineer? A basketball player, or entomologist? Maybe he has some secret skill he's quietly, almost annoyingly good at that never made the official file in this timeline. Or he dove headfirst into a niche hobby he won't shut up about.

Tell us who he is when nobody's depending on him to save the day. The grounded answers, the ridiculous ones, the ones that are a little bittersweet, or downright tragic (will you kiss the brick before you throw it, though?). Simple or complex. Mix & match canon and invention however you want here!

It starts small: you see apples stacked up at the store. Your phone autocorrects a word to "pipsqueak"... and something in your chest goes oh.

That's the thing about loving him this much. He doesn't just stay in the game. He turns up in your grocery aisle, your playlist, the color of the sunset, or an offhand comment from a friend.

So today, tell us where Caleb has found you in real life! A comment he made in the cafe that was somehow a little *too* perfect for something you're going through IRL? Or a song that turned out to be about him without asking permission, the stranger whose laugh did the thing, the dish on a menu you can't order now without thinking about who'd cook it better. The more specific, the better; nothing's too small, too silly, or too sappy to count. that's where the love actually lives.

Last year on his birthday, we watched a movie he loved from his childhood, "A Day with My Pilot, Ta-ta" together in [No-Return Night]. And tomorrow, a new movie-themed multibanner releases for us to enjoy. The system's down for maintenance soon, so we're settling in for a movie night together!

Picture it. A night in with Gege. He's provided the snacks (as always), you've claimed the blanket, the remote is up for grabs, and somewhere between the opening credits and the part you actually wanted to see, he's stopped watching the screen and started watching you.

So tell us:

• What's playing? His pick, your pick, or the one you fought over and met in the middle on.
• Does Caleb watch the movie, or is he the menace who narrates, critiques the science, and pauses it every five minutes to talk?

What's your go-to? Do you trade off picking every-other-movie night, to keep things fair, or pick on a whim in the moment?
