Madagascar: the Penguins and Julien's heights & characters dodging lasers

In the Penguins of Madagascar episode "Operation: Swap-panzee", we see that the chimps have an height of about 4 feet or so. While the show does play with the characters' sizes (King Julien and the other lemurs are a bit closer in height to the penguins when KJ is a good bit taller in Madagascar 3 and the Penguins' movie) this should tell us how big the little guys are.

The Kinetic Energy of Santa's reindeer flying across the world

This is a common enough feat for just about any setting that has a Santa Claus.

We'll use the main eight reindeer without Rudolph and 700,000,000 for the amount of kids since that's roughly about all the Christian kids in the world. It could be higher, but this sets a good base line.

The weight of Santa: 260 lbs, which is 117.934 kg

The weight of eight reindeer: 272 kg for one, which means we get 2,176 kg

The weight of Santa's sleigh: using one of the smaller estimates for it, 136.0777 kg

Now to figure out the weight of the toys... We can't get the weight of ALL the toys, so we'll have to estimate. We'll use a Optimus Prime figure with the weight of .659 kg and a Buzz Lightyear figure with the weight of 1.2 kg.

The Adventures of Puss in Boots: Celtics gods cause the sun to flare

Two gods, Toutatis and Taranis, work together to cause the sun to flare for a ceremony that'll give Puss powers like their own.

Doing my take on this feat since I didn't fully vibe with the logic that makes this Large Country (200 teratons together, 100 teratons each).

Which as such, using their logic with the statement of "This energy is ten million times greater than the energy released from a volcanic explosion" that's also on the site and the calc for the average volcano eruption, we'd get about:

28.942100855859376 megatons to 66.68260037190001 megatons (City) together, and then 14.4710504279 megatons to 33.341300186 megatons (City) each.

Using other information on the site, we can see that the average solar flare emits an energy of 10^27 ergs per second, which means 1e+20 joules per second.

Using the time where the obelisk starts sparking and the sun stops: 6.67 seconds

Manny pelts the duo with snowballs hard enough to freeze them somehow. Which... kind of retroactively makes sense since his daughter does something similar in the Christmas special though she doesn't freeze them solid. But since this isn't Pokemon and mammoths aren't natural born cryomancers, let's see how the energy it would take to freeze these reptiles. We can't fully use the typical freezing rules set by vsbattleswiki one to one, but we can adjust by using science and my previous calcs for the duo's size and weight.

Since I fucked up the numbers on my first ever calc by using a calc that used a six foot tall Sid, I went back to check the numbers AND found that in the book adaptations, Manny survives being in the water as the valley drains after Scrat cracks a hole in the glacial wall. Given these sorts of books tend to use scrapped concepts + are an alternative means of story telling, this means that Manny and Scrat (and Cretaceous and Maelstrom depending on if they survived being sucked up by all this water) should both scale to this. This is a Scrat feat Manny SHOULD undeniably scale to.

Ice Age: Sid's not-so-slothful feats!

As the second most reoccurring Ice Age character after Scrat, Sid's gotten himself into some silly hijinks throughout the series' history: this a collection of those feats to see how strong Sid actually is. Now let's figure out all this math!

The Power of Sid's Flower Gun

For the console version of Dawn of the Dinosaurs, Sid decides to ward off dinosaurs from getting close to his kids by by using a gun-like plant instead. Sid’s flower gun can launch dilophosaurus, guanlongs, troodons and Quetzalcoatlus into the horizon in about 1 second. 

Sid is four feet tall, so the horizon for him would be about “3941.5” meters. Thankfully, these dinosaurs and prehistoric reptiles are closer to their regular size so we can use that to figure out the weight of them.

In said Ice Age ride from above, Ice Age Expedition Thin Ice, Sid plugs a water geyser and somehow manages to erupt a nearby volcano after collapsing Geotopia. Ironic how volcanos and lava are a reoccurring theme in this franchise...

Since I couldn't find the height of the volcano using angsize, we're going to use average height of a cinder cone volcano and minimum mountain height to figure this one out. (which if anyone can tell me how to measure using angsize and an object in the foreground, please let me know in the comments and I'll go back and add that in)

Alright. So this is The Strongest non-Scrat or Santa's Reindeer AP feat in all of Ice Age film canon: Sid knocks down a tree and causes a chain reaction that sends a glacier loose to carve out the Grand Canyon. Most Grand Canyon-sized feats get to at least Island level, so let's see if everyone's favorite sloth matches up.

Ice Age: Collision Course - Buck moves in tandem with the speeding moon

Here's a semi-buff to Scrat and a buff to everyone else's favorite Ice Age character, Buck.

Scrat ends up grabbing ahold of the moon with a tractor beam and then proceeds to throw it at the Earth. Buck, down on the ground, moves his head and paws as the moon soars above them.

There's a 384400 kilometer distance from the Moon to the Earth. 384400 kilometers means 384400000 meters.

Ice Age Comic: Sid reacts to a beam from a cloning device and Scrat & a Hyrax move with it

Sid reacts to a beam being shot out of Santa's "Past, Present, Future" device and right after, Scrat and a random-ass hyrax move while it bounces off the reflective surface of an ice cave. I'm hesitant to confidently say 100% that this was a light beam given that the device is powered by Santa’s magic but I did right down the reasons for and against it being light…

Because I'm uncertain, I'm going to use lightning and laser ends and both pixel scaling & angsizing to figure out however the fuck fast Sid is moving here and two ways of regular pixel scaling to see how quick Scrat is moving. (which, please, if I fucked this up, please tell me so.)

Again, please tell me if I fucked up with this since it's different from all my other Ice Age calcs but otherwise, these prehistoric animals can enjoy the buff then.

A smattering of Ice Age feats that I thought didn't really deserve their separate posts. I've got two more feat collections after this for Manny and Sid, so let's see get to the ones here first.

The size of Cretaceous and Maelstrom

A thing I've always wondered about is how big the antagonists of Ice Age: The Meltdown were. Now, we can use pixel scaling to see how big these reptiles are! but first: let's find out how big the cast are.

Manny, Sid and Diego

The Hyraxes move a mountain and/or a landmass.

In Ice Age Adventures, the Hyraxes work as construction workers throughout the game and are apparently able to move land masses to expand the village. Because elephant-relatives are just built differently in this franchise.

The average mountain weighs about 100 billion tons… so we get 1e+14 kilograms. 

It should be resting on the sea floor since the intro cutscene of the game shows there’s rock underneath all the ice, the game is a follow up to Ice Age Village where the village is close enough to the ocean that Sid can swim down to the seabed and the average sea bed is about 3682 meters down.

Ice Age: Collision Course - Scrat causes the Moon to fuck with the Earth's gravity

Scrat ends up snagging the moon with a tractor beam and yeets it very close to Earth: to the point where water starts raising upwards into the sky. The Herd themselves are unaffected by the moon being that close despite it lifting the ocean and the river before them. I'm going to try and apply the math used with this calc (which, do please tell me if I'm wrong)...

Ice Age: Collision Course: Scrat's Ship hits a plant hard enough to make Constellations

Here we go, one of the strongest calculable feats in all of Ice Age unless Boiling Point and the new comic coming out change this.

The feat itself: Scrat's ship shoots a planet so hard it, it knocks into stars and makes two constellations - two constellations with a lot of stars. A LOT OF STARS. I think I understand Scrat's suffering now after counting all of them.

Ice Age: Continental Drift: Scrat survives America being drained

The fourth Ice Age movie ends with Scrat pulling out a drainplug and draining an ocean spanning across North America of all its water. He's perfectly fine after all this and going by Ice Age Adventures' logic (a mobile game that acts as a sequel to Continental Drift), so are the Scratlantians. We don't fully see all of the ocean being drained since it only cuts to a higher POV at the end, but we can use the area of the United States as a low end and all of North America as a high ball.

If it's just what will become the US

The United States without Alaska and Hawaii is 8,080,464.3 km2 and the highest mountain in the US (which would be submerged) is 4421 m, so we can use this to find height and area.

Plugging this into this calculator and using 60 Fahrenheit water

We get 35,690,417,477,305,594,000 kg of water.

It 20 seconds for it to fully drain, so we get 404,023.215 km/s2.

Plugging it into the KE formula: 0.5*35,690,417,477,305,594,000*404,023.215^2

Ice Age: Scrat Erupts a Volcano

At the end of Ice Age, Scrat gets frozen in ice and wakes up 20,000 years later. His first action upon losing his acorn is trying to replace it with a coconut and setting off a volcano in the process. He's too far away to properly use him to compare sizes, but using an average cinder cone volcano and minimum mountain height we can figure out just how big this eruption was.
