M31 and M32

Gear:

- Orion 6" f/4 astrograph

- Baader Mark lII multi-purpose coma corrector

- Astromania UV/IR cut filter

- ZWO184MC OSC uncooled

- Celestron Advanced GT equatorial mount

Acquisition:

- 60 x 60s subs, 300 gain, in SharpCap

- No guiding

- 7 x 60s darks

- 100 flats

- 100 bias

Processing: All in Siril

- OSC preprocessing script to stack and align

- Background extraction

- Spectrophotometric color calibration

- Asinh transformation

- Star reduction

- Histogram stretch

- Saturation adjustment

- Median filter for noise reduction

This is my third or fourth round of edits on this image. I think I'm finally happy with it, and now that I know my way around Siril a little better, I'm going to quit using DSS.

Messier 101

And other DSOs (man the auto-mod is picky)

Finally getting back into astrophotography after a long hiatus.

- M101

- NGC 4414 and TON 618

- Draco Trio

- Eastern Veil Nebula

- M13 and NGC 6207

- M3

- Gear photo

All taken under Bortle 4 skies, 6" f/4 astrograph and ZWO184MC uncooled. 60s subs, total exposure time of each was around one hour.

Stacked in DSS, color-calibrated and stretched in Siril. Straightened and cropped in RawTherapee.

I may need another spacer for my coma corrector.

UV index on the rise and it's in the 80s this week. I put up the shade cloth last night.

It always feels so nice under here.

Wadsworth

Good thing even valuable meteorites are affordable if you don't mind tiny specimens. That glassy crust is wild under a microscope.

Two photos of a full slice and one photo of an endcut. Just got these in the mail yesterday and they remind me of the Peekskill slice I saw in New York recently but on a smaller scale.

Sold to me as a Sahara number that doesn't appear in the Meteoritical Bulletin but stated as "paired with many." There are a number of stones of the same classification, all with ringwoodite in the description, published about when this was found, so I'm guessing it's related to one or more of those.
