I currently work as a Data Scientist at a large steel company, primarily in a work-from-home setup. My fixed annual salary is around 18 LPA, with an additional variable component of about 6 LPA. If I decide to switch jobs, what would be a reasonable expected salary range? How should it differ for remote roles versus positions based in Bangalore or Kolkata?

I’m a Data Scientist from India with over 4 years of experience specializing in Machine Learning, Generative AI, and Enterprise Automation.
I’m looking to relocate to Germany, but there's a catch: I don’t speak German yet.
I’d love some insight from those who have made the move or are currently in the German tech scene:

1. Job Market (2026): How is the demand for mid-to-senior DS/AI roles right now? Is the focus still heavy on LLMs and automation?
2. The Language Barrier: Is it realistic to land a role in Berlin or Munich speaking only English? I’m willing to learn, but will I be filtered out immediately by most companies?
3. Target Cities: Aside from Berlin and Munich, are there other hubs I should look at that are "English-friendly"?
