First International Trip: Europe Trip in September from India - help optimize 12 days 4 people Itinerary

Hi All,

I am planning a euro trip with my friends, two of them are married couple with a baby, in September. Total budget is about 8 lacs including return flights. Our priorities: scenic views, walkable cities and relaxed pace(not city-hopping every day).

Plan: Frankfurt -> Germany -> Berlin -> Switzerland -> Paris -> Italy -> Germany
We will be landing in Frankfurt as we have some friends there living so we will live with them during our trip.

Germany: 2 nights - Rothenberg ob der Tauber and the Romantic on first day and Berlin on last day

Switzerland: 4 nights - Zurich, Interlaken, Lucerne, Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen, Prague

Paris: 2 nights - Montmartre, Eiffel Tower, Notre-Dame, Normandy, Nice

Italy: 4 nights - Rome & Vatican City, Amalfi Coast, Capri, Venice, Milan, Sicily, Lake Como

Key questions:

- Is September a good time for this route (weather + crowds + prices)?

- For a first trip, is 12 days noticeably better with this budget?

-Feel free to add/remove any cities but we prefer to visit Switzerland, Paris, Italy

If you’ve done a similar route, what 10–12 day itinerary would you suggest for a late-30s couple with our budget and priorities?

Thanks a lot for any advice
