College verification 59 miles?!
Hey y'all, I need a reality check. I’m enrolling in a fully online program at a Technical Community College , but they put an identity hold on my financial aid and being able to sign up for classes (basically registration)
The enrollment specialist is insisting I must come to campus in-person just to show my ID (driver's license or state ID) to clear it. I live over 50 miles away, so this is a 2-hour round trip just to show someone a document for 5 seconds. Their virtual lobby keeps glitching and locking me out, which is why they are pushing the drive.
Has anyone else dealt with a school forcing an online student to drive this far for an ID check? Is there a workaround? Also, if I do go, do they accept LA Wallet (the digital ID app), or do they strictly demand a physical plastic card?
