Is TSMU (Tashkent Medical Academy/TSMU) actually worth it? I don’t want to ruin my future.

Hi everyone,
I’m seriously considering studying medicine at TSMU in Tashkent, but before I make such a huge decision, I really want honest opinions from people who have actually studied there or know someone who has.
I’m an international student, and my biggest fear is making the wrong choice and ending up hurting my future career.
I’d really appreciate if you could answer questions like:
Is the quality of education actually good?
Are the professors supportive and do they teach well?
Is the degree recognized internationally, and have graduates had success matching into residency or working abroad?
Are there enough clinical opportunities and hands-on experience?
What’s student life like for international students?
If you could go back in time, would you choose TSMU again?
Please don’t sugarcoat it—I want the good, the bad, and the ugly. If there are major issues I should know about, I’d rather hear them now than regret my decision later.
Thank you so much. Any advice or personal experiences would mean a lot.

International students in Tashkent – where should I look for apartments before arriving?

Hi everyone,

I'll be moving to Tashkent soon to start university, and I'm trying to arrange accommodation before I arrive.

For current international students (or anyone who has studied in Tashkent), which websites, apps, or platforms do you recommend for finding apartments? Are there any trusted rental websites that are commonly used by students?

A few questions:

  • Which websites did you use to find your apartment?
  • Are there any websites or agencies I should avoid?
  • Is it better to rent before arriving or stay somewhere temporary and look in person?
  • What is a reasonable monthly budget for a student near the universities?
  • Are there any Telegram groups or other communities that students use for apartment listings?

I'd really appreciate hearing about your experiences and any tips for avoiding scams.

Thanks!
