Left ocean county at 3:00 am, got to the route 80 lot around 5:15am. Took dunfield creek up to sunfish, then the AT to Mohican. Followed the AT back to route 80. Knocked out 13 miles before getting back to the car at 1.

Red efts slowed us down considerably. The rain from the night before had hundreds of them stirred up and crossing the trail during the early hours.

If you’ve done the hike to sunfish pond I highly recommend pushing another few miles to mount mohican for a beautiful view.
