GM Platnium extended warranty and tire size

I know this has likely been beaten down and discussed, but here we are.

First, yes I know about the MMWA, but this gets deeper..

I have a sierra at4 1500, 3.0 and I am purchasing a gm extended warranty (service plan) for it.

I plan on doing Bilstien 6112 at 1.2in and 275/65r20 and new UCAs.

In reading a gm warranty contract, I read the “Lift Kit/Tire Modification Allowance” section and have included a picture of this section.

My understanding is “up to 35in and 4in of lift” UNLESS otherwise equipped directly from manufacturer. The Unless part in plain reading applies to Rocky Ridge, Black Widow, etc trucks. The up to 35in and 4in of lift would apply to me.

Great. Well….

Below that it states that “odometer must be calibrated to reflect true mileage”. That sounds easy until you realize, based on my research, that no dealer will/can update the tire size in the computer. Plus, dealers will deny warranty if you plug in something like HP tuners or rough country to change it due to interfering with computer.

This seems like a warranty provision that can be easily declined by a dealer.

Has anyone gone this route and had issues having warranty cover anything? Has anyone had the dealership calibrate their truck to a different size (non-factory)? Any anonymous service advisors/adjusters have to deal with this?

I don’t want to go through all of this and pay the money for this warranty for them to tell me “oh warranty declined on engine/transmission because big tires bad.”
