100-inch TV or projector for a room that is not always dark?

I want a genuinely large image, but the room is used for more than movie night.

There is daytime streaming, weekend sports, and occasional gaming. A projector gives me flexibility and the theater feel, but it also means light control, a screen, possible fan noise, and more setup. A 100-inch TV is simpler day to day, but harder to deliver and more permanent in the room.

For a mixed-use space, which inconvenience would you rather live with?

Why is it so hard to throw away an old TV remote?

I found three old remotes in a drawer and cannot explain why any of them are still here.

One belongs to a TV that has been gone for years. Another has a missing battery cover. The third might not belong to anything in the house.

Do you keep old TV gear because it may be useful someday, or are you normal and throw it away?
