OverTaxedCo.'s Startup Story

I've just recently started www.overtaxedco.com. As a welder in the oil sands, I meet a lot of rough and tough men and women. They all wear the same brands, often even the same designs. That got me thinking about how we needed some diversity, something new. It rolled around in my brain for a long time, until one of my co-workers started a tik-tok and he very quickly found success. That was the push I needed to start in motion the process of starting something up.

I work with my hands, and never with a computer, so I needed something even somebody who's almost computer illiterate could do. Drop shipping seemed the most straightforward way to do it where I could make the least mistakes. I did my research, and settled on a supplier who valued quality first and foremost. I knew quality was of utmost importance to the blue collar community. We work hard for our money, so when we spend it, we want it to be good and last a long time. Lots of nights designing and website building later I had something I felt I could share with the world and be proud of. (Props to everyone who is good at that) So here I am sharing it with all of you lovely people.

OverTaxedCo is derived from how every trade and every jobsite has the same complaints. We work too hard to get taxed too much. It feels like all the overtime we work goes straight into the government's pockets. 250+ hours a month for it to feel like it's all being taken away. My goal is to provide quality apparel to the hard working men and women in the blue collar world. Keep the profit margins small so that the money you have left after taxes take their ruthless cut, goes further.

Thank you for reading the story of how this all started. Here are a few of the first designs. I hope to add many more, to bring diversity in the clothes I see on jobsites all around.

Blue Collar Apparel

Hey folks! Just recently launched a blue collar apparel brand OverTaxedCo. Here are some of the starting designs. The test prints turned out phenomenal and I couldn't be happier with it. I wanted to share the start of the journey.
