Bonvoy is a joke
I switched to Bonvoy after being Diamond Status with Hilton for a number of years - most of my coworkers stay in Marriott properties, and many of our events are held at Marriott properties, so it seemed like the best option.
What a joke. Titanium status and they treat you like you mean nothing.
Flight cancelled out of ORD to a meeting in Cincinnati I HAD to attend the following day. Too late to cancel the Cincinnati room. Oh well. Booked a room at the Sheraton to get a few hours' sleep before getting up at 4:30 to rent a car at 5 AM. Drove the 5 hours to Cincinnati and made it to the hotel about an hour before the meeting started. Took advantage of late check-out for a room I paid for to freshen up and change clothes.
Of course, Bonvoy will not give me credit/points for the two rooms I both OCCUPIED personally and PAID for - only one, because policy. Manager unable/unwilling to apply judgement to policy.
I learned the value of loyalty programs through Airline travel, where status truly makes for a better experience. When something goes wrong, they bend over backwards to make it right.
Titanium status with Bonvoy means basically nothing. Bonvoy is an absolute dumpster fire of a loyalty program.
