Declining work as apprentice?

I am not currently in the union but have been looking seriously into joining. I try to research as much as possible but I’m still a little confused as to how something’s work.

I’ve heard as a newer apprentice not to decline work too much because they will stop offering as much? My only thing is I don’t want to work data centers. I don’t want this to hear anything about my opinion on that I know that there are some very different view but I am looking for answers to due with the process through the union, please.

Can you request work that is not data centers? Or would I just be stuck without work? I’ve heard it’s really booming right now with them so I figured a lot of work coming through and I would have to decline. As an apprentice are you required to work everything given to you? Or is there any say? Any info is greatly appreciated.

Thank you

No insurance?

Hello I’m not sure if this is the correct group to reach out to or not but was going to give it a shot.

I recently moved to Ohio from Missouri for school. A few months before I left I was getting very strange symptoms not sure what it was. A week before leaving I had a very bad spell at work and had to leave to go to the emergency room. They didn’t seem to really put my effort or care into my situation gave me a CT that didn’t show anything and just said “vertigo”. I get very dizzy suddenly but I also get intense Déjà vu, nausea, flashlights, muscle twitch, I will he talking to someone and not here a word they said and feel very foreign to where I am and what is going on. I do stay aware during but sometimes it feels like I can’t find words or when I hear words they just don’t make sense. These symptoms have been getting worse and I want to see a doctor but I am currently in school so I can’t work and don’t have insurance. I applied for Medicaid 3 weeks ago but can take up to 45 days here I guess? I heard urgent cares don’t typically do EEG’s and an emergency room I have already been through and was a nightmare. I’m not sure what options I have so if anybody had suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated.
