Neurotech consulting for neurologists?

Seeing the innovations with neurotech like a BCI from UMich recently implanted in a pt with LMN disease and all the stuff coming out of WUSM, UCSF, etc., I am wondering what will neurologists have to contribute to this scene currently and in the future?

Any neurologists currently doing consulting for neurotech or signing pts up for neurotech clinical trials? Give examples?

OBGYN SubI Help?

For the overseers of OBGYN, due to health issues, I can only do 1 OBGYN SubI prior to ERAS application. How much would that affect my application?

I have done my OBGYN clerkship and also did quite a bit of OBGYN on a longitudinal clinic course offered by my school.

interested in neurointervention, but currently a mom of young kids

Hi guys, so US neuro resident here, incoming PGY2.

Very interested in neurointervention and no research in the field thus far. However, I can try to get some. But I have 2 little ones, and I am afraid of the lifestyle being unaccomodating to my children.

Was wondering if it is feasible to first do a vascular neuro fellowship 2-3 years out of residency (pay off my loans and afford a nice lifestyle for my family). Then do a neurointervention fellowship 10 years after that?

I just don't want to do neurointervention right away due to my children. Is this even possible to delay doing that fellowship until after my kids are in high school (10 years after graduation from residency)?

Salary for MS Specialist that only does outpatient MS clinic?

I'm a mom and worried about not having time to be with my kids, so I've really fallen upon MS clinic. What's the general salary of MS specialist that only does MS clinic for infusion-included and infusion- nonincluded?

I'd like to make 350K/year to fund the lifestyle that my family has

totally fine also doing gen neuro. Do I have to have a neuroimmuno fellowship to see MS clinic pts?

Possible to match diagnostic radiology?

USMD at state school.
Honors/HP in all clerkships.
249 Step 2 score
My one red flag: pushed back graduation date due to family issues and needing extra time to study for Step 1.
I have 1 radiology rotation and planning for one more.

Strong Rec letters from:

  1. IM SubI
  2. neurology rotation - heavy in neurorads that made me really enjoy radiology
  3. FM clerkship
  4. IM clerkship

What are my chances to match and should I try and apply this year?

Only being able to get OBGYN SubI after ERAS is submitted?

Hi guys, so because I am currently pregnant and due to deliver this summer, I won’t be able to do any OBGYN SubI’s until after ERAS given the timing of my delivery.

That being said, I did do 1 SubI and rotations in another field that I originally thought I wanted but after seeing them as a M4, I was turned off of them. And now I am going back to my original love, OBGYN, and it brings me the most joy and satisfaction in my career.

So, what are my chances of OBGYN if I have no SubI’s, but a strong OBGYN rec letter from M3 year, 1 strong FM letter, and 1 strong IM letter when applying this cycle?

I have a 248 Step 2 score, and my only red flag is that I am matching a cycle later because I didn’t take Step 2 on time. My clinical rotations were pushed back due to health and family issues and me just not feeling prepared. Otherwise, no failures or red flags on my app.

Not really planning on dual applying. I love OBGYN.

Neurology Rec Letter?

Hi guys, so I can only fit in one 4th year neuro elective in my schedule. I got a letter from the department chair from this (unsure how strong, probably average).

I have a strong IM rec letter from my IM SubI, which talks about how I managed neuro patients on the wards.

Have a strong FM rec letter from someone I worked with over many years in our FM clinic.

That’s all the rec letters I have for neurology. Will it be a big concern if I didn’t get a second letter from a neurologist even tho my IM letter essentially talks about me taking on neuro patients and talking about trials/treatment for them?

For reference, I’m a USMD.
