5 guard rotation

I actually feel like having this many guards is a good place to be in considering injury history. Dame Ja Shaedon and Scoot have all missed significant time with injury throughout the season and some of these injuries can be attributed to a high workload due to the lack of guards last year, remember when Chauncey was playing shaedon 46 mins at the pg position.

I feel that Jrue and shaedon would be able to split 24 mins so 12 mins each at the 3 and 12 mins each at the 2. You’ve then got 48 mins at the point guard and 24 mins at the shooting guard positions for Dame Ja and scoot. Depending on who’s hot instead of everybody playing 24 mins have the one who are on play 30 and the ones who are playing poor play 18 mins. Not being a doomer but more than likely one of the guards does get injured and we have a 4 guard rotation that is ok.

Stop giving up on Shaedon Sharpe

Fans look at a tiny sample size of a 22 year old player coming back from injury against a contending team and are already giving up on him and calling to get rid of him let me remind you what he did in a 3 month span fully healthy with HALF our team out with injury

November 10 games 23pts 5rbs 2 asts 1.3 stls on 49.4/24.1 splits, 3pt shooting was a bit iffy

December 14 games 23pts 4 rbs 3 asts 2 stls on 46.4/44 splits those are pretty damn good numbers

January 15 games 22pts 5rbs 3 asts 1.4 stls on 47/37.4 splits

Averaged those numbers with 0 play calls 0 offensive sets and an incompetent offense, what could he do with an actual proper offense around him fully healthy. He is a 25ppg guy in this league and I am so ready for next season.

Speaking realistically, we are not winning the championship next year no matter what trades we make and Dame most likely isn’t going to be as good as you think. Trading away our entire future for injury prone, aging stars or players who don’t fit is a one way route to ruining the franchise. Think some of you are to focused on wanting Dame to win a ring rather then doing what’s best for the team which is to continue letting the young guys develop and to trade for young shooters and talent rather then going all in. Unfortunately the most likely scenario is dame will not be around when we win the first ring and that’s it. Just look at other teams who traded away picks and young players for stars and see where they ended up. Let the kids grow man we made the playoffs as a young team and are on track, don’t mess it up

After watching the interview it’s clear the most likely reason for Shae being benched was his defense as he was 100% healthy. It honestly hurts cause he’s my favourite player so I would hate to see him be traded or leave. In terms of his defence I think 1 on 1 he’s a decent defender the problem lies within defensive sets against plays and making reads and rotations. It genuinely pains me how bad he can be sometimes recognising the most basic switch and rotation. Like I feel most players would be able to watch film and not make the same mistakes but he has been making those for the past 4 years and it gets to a point. That is the one area he needs to improve on the most. Yes his handle and mindset also needs to improve but if he can just work on some basic BBIQ knowing when to rotate and switch he will stay on the floor because of his gravity and offensive talent. Still I hope he stays but might just be my bias as a big Shaedon fan 🫠

BE REAL it is not happening and even if it did it doesn’t make us better. We are the worst three point shooting team in the league you don’t trade your whole future for 1 year of Giannis when you can’t hit threes. I don’t get the urgency to push for a chip now and honestly think so many people are overreacting. We are a young group working our way up the seedings and made the playoffs for the first time, next season the aim is to get out the first round gain more experience, talent etc. Just because we made one playoffs suddenly we need to win a chip next year and trade our entire future for a superstar, do you guys know how a rebuild works? Think you’re too focused on wanting Dame to get a chip rather than doing what’s best for the team. If we are being honest dame is most likely not around for when we finally win one 🤷‍♂️

Yes he was a bad defender but not team collapsing losing games terrible, however I don’t get how you can use Shaedons defense as an argument considering the team was worse defensively when he was off the floor. The “constant attacking of shae” somehow ended up with us gaining points off the other team? They would be so focused on targeting Shaedon they forget they had a 7’5 demigod to go to. My point being what is the point of benching Shae for “defense” when our defence doesn’t improve and arguably is worse. Splitter trades 21ppg of offense for worse defence, make that make sense. He completely failed Shaedon this playoffs and if we do trade him we will be making a mistake. The kid hasn’t even had a full season, with the right coach and offense he will be a prolific efficient scorer. The guy averaged 21 on pure iso buckets and tough shots. Imagine what he can do with a competent half court offense

Am I the minority in saying I hope we keep both of them and don’t trade them?

Firstly, Shaedon hasn’t even had a full season yet and injuries have interrupted a lot of this season. This playoffs he came back was out of shape and I thought he looked alright. When he has had time to ramp up and string together a good 20-40 games in a row we saw what he could do where he averaged 25 on like ridiculous efficiency. Defensively there is an effort problem which I think can be fixed through better coaching and vets.

Scoot I think is the opposite he has the effort and mentality and just needs to clean up on a few skills. I think both of them are on good contracts and we haven’t even seen them play together much this season. I say give them another year before we give up and go for a star, would love to see how dame looks as well coming back

Deni, Jrue and RW3 all showed up as well as scoot in the first 2 games

Very disappointed with Grant, Camara and Clingan, both Camara and Clingan will learn and grow from this but time to move on from Grant.

Shaedon was just failed by splitter. Was leader in net rating coming into game 5 we needed his offense out there and Splitter refused to play him. I hope we keep shaedon otherwise he will become a star somewhere else

Didn’t watch the game because I’m in Australia. Checked the box score and shaedon had 8 points 3/5 shooting with a steal and was +5 and only played 13 minutes??. Like they didn’t even think to play him in the 2nd half collapse when Jrue deni and scoot couldn’t keep us in the game? This whole series I thought shaedon played decent defence and not enough to warrant such low minutes especially with with his offensive ability it was not like we are getting destroyed out there with him either

Game 1: 13 point loss +9

Game 2: 3 point win -1

Game 3: 12 point loss -4

Game 4: 21 point loss +5

I mean why play him such low minutes when we literally are winning and gaining on the spurs when he’s on the floor?
