I've been really enjoying this performance of Raag Nat Bhairav performed by Soumitra Thakur and Yashwant Vaishnav.

Could anyone explain the taal the gat is in (starts at around 9min 40)? It seems to be in 7, but not sure how it should be counted or where the melody line starts.
