Sponsorship approved 482 but!

I am an ai scientist with a phd. I m working with major financial group company who agreed to sponsor me. Initially they approved to sponsor me for 186 but i was short of 3 months of 3 year experience. My research experience didnt count as per their lawyer so he suggested i take 482 pathway. Now we got approvals for it but as part of labor market testing they have to put the advert for 4 weeks. My manager says he will assess all applications that come up during the advert period and if they find a local he ll go with them. My visa expires in oct 26.
Their lawyer said to him we dont need to assess applications we can say we didnt find the skill because i have been working with the company’s internal systems and have domain knowledge with new candidates wont have. But manager still insists he would do his way. Is this a standard process all 482 lmt’s do? I heard from others that usually this isnt a problem as HR and lawyers handle it. Any suggestions you could give ?
