my LOVE for doraemon(I would you read this)

Growing up, Doraemon meant more to me than anything else in the world. I loved Nobita, and I felt a connection to Doraemon that’s hard to put into words. genuinely one of the best things that happened in my life. I always wished I could be in Nobita’s place so I could have Doraemon with me too. But I never wanted to choose between them or break their bond. I wanted to be with both Nobita and Doraemon.

Until 8th standard, I watched a lot of Doraemon movies, and their adventures and friendship touched my heart deeply. Movies like Arabian Nights(fav), The Three Swordsmen(fav), Gadget Museum, Steel Troops, Nobita’s Dinosaur, Adventure to the South Seas, and Kingdom of Clouds still hold a special place in my heart.
After 9th standard, I had to go to a hostel, and from then on I stopped watching Doraemon. Recently though, I’ve been watching some episodes as shorts, and it gets to me every time because I know how much I loved this show. I even looked into how and why Doraemon was created in the first place and who created and so on about doraemon. If I’d put that same energy into my studies, maybe I’d have become a scientist. (Just kidding.)
But thinking about how much I loved Doraemon, and about how the story ends with Doraemon and Nobita having to separate once Doraemon completes his mission, it makes me cry. Their bond, their memories, the moments they shared, are priceless. I used to think no one in the world could love Doraemon as much as I did. It makes me sad thinking about Nobita’s future without Doraemon, and how he must have felt.

I also watched an episode where Suneo, Gian, and Dekisugi throw Nobita a bachelor party before his wedding, and they reminisce about the memories they had growing up. I don’t know exactly how they felt, but those memories feel like my memories, their childhood feels like my childhood. Near the end, Nobita leaves the party early to go meet Shizuka, and Suneo tells Gian that they’re all stepping into a new chapter of their lives. He starts crying, and that made me cry too. They were literally moving from boys to men.

Doraemon will always live in my heart. I’ve never met anyone who loves it as much as I do, or who really understands the feeling behind that love. I think only people who’ve felt this kind of bond with something can truly get it.

I’m almost 23 now. Whenever I try to express this to someone, they treat it like I’m just a kid who loves cartoons. I feel like they are not mature enough to understand this love or feelings. But I believe the memories and love I built around Doraemon as a child are precious, and it has nothing to do with whether it was “just a cartoon.” It was the bond I formed with something and for me, that something is Doraemon. Thanks for reading this post. Its just that i came across this reddit channel and felt maybe you guys can understand how i feel so i posted it. Thanks for your time. Atleast i am satisfied that you guys took time and read this. I truly appreciate the people who understood what i am talking about.

Reach USCIS Agent

Tried calling USCIS premium processing((866) 315-5718) today. As usual a bot answered my call and i am unable to bypass that(any suggestions to bypass the bot and reach the agent?)

So I had to ask my case status and it asked my receipt number. It then started retrieving my data and suddenly someone from nowwhere was like “OUR OFFICE IS CLOSED TODAY. Pls send a voice msg.”

EAD approved but my employer is losing patience with the delays

Got the EAD approval email on the 15th, and USCIS’s online portal shows “Case Decision Rendered” on the 17th (still waiting on the physical card).

Here’s my problem: my employer has been waiting on me to start, and I kept pushing the date back. First I gave them a start date, they waited. Then I asked for an extension, they waited another 2 weeks. Now I’ve asked for one more week, and they’ve told me the repeated delays are starting to concern them.

OPT EAD Card for Employment Verification

I’m an F-1 student on OPT. My EAD card is being mailed to an address in another state, so I may not have the physical card with me when I complete my employer’s I-9 verification.
Once the card is delivered, does my employer need to inspect the original physical EAD card, or is a scanned copy (front and back) sufficient if the verification is done remotely?
Has anyone gone through this situation?

EAD Card premium processing

Worried pls help. I’m an F-1 visa starting OPT and have a couple of questions:

1. My EAD card hasn’t physically arrived yet. Can I legally start a job before I have the card in hand, or do I have to wait until it shows up?

2. Timeline check:- I originally filed my I-765 for the EAD in April and did my biometrics in April. Then on June 9th I upgraded to premium processing. Based on that, do you think I’ll get my card (or at least an approval/decision) this week? Or is it still unclear at this point? Curious if anyone has gone through the same premium upgrade and how long it took after that.

Am worried when they’re gonna process my card. Appreciate any input. thanks!

Housing at santa barbara

Hi everyone!

I am moving to Santa Barbara at the end of June and looking for accommodation.

I am extremely flexible and humble about my needs. A room, a shared space, or even any available corner of the house works for me while I get settled in. Temporary arrangements are completely fine too. I just need a safe place to stay and I promise I won't be a burden!

If you have any leads or even a small space to offer, please do reply. I will connect with you and we can discuss the details.

Thank you so much!
