Should I cancel My Tata Sierra’s booking?
Hi peeps, We (Me & my parents) were looking for a new and a bigger car and We finalised Tata Sierra Accomplished + GDI Petrol (AT) variant in Munnar Mist colour. We finalised it because of few reasons : 1. Good interior spacing and Extreme comfort (which was our top priority), 2. Powerful Petrol Engine with a reliable automatic transmission (TC), 3. It was my father’s first pick (My father being that 50 y/o guy who is often not impressed with everything and has no interests in cars whatsoever) and he is the one most excited about the Sierra.
We booked it on 27th March, 2025 and we were told that 2 months is standard waiting period and max is 3 months. I requested the sales person to deliver it to me on July 17 (As it is the auspicious day of Rath Yatra) or else on 8th August as it’s my father’s birthday and this car is messed for him (Almost 5 months). 2-3 months ago, the sales consultant dealing with me left the company and I was not assigned any other person, So I myself approached the dealership and got in touch with the TL. Last month, I hadn’t received any updates of vehicle leaving factory or any VIN number assignation since transit will take 10-20 days and remaining 7 days for registration, PDI and Payment so I approached the showroom. There they too had no idea whether delivery on July 17th is possible or not and they just had one response that is “They’ve no idea about where my vehicle is and when can I expect it to be delivered”. So I dropped the that and awaited for August 8th Delivery. Since past week, I have been in talks with the TL whether August 8th is possible or not and their response is same i.e., they don’t have any idea what is the status. So I started escalation, Reached the Dealership’s GM, He picked up my call asked me for details and told me he will call back in 10mins and he didn’t called. I called him after 2hrs he said he will call back and hung up. No response from his end till now.
Reached the TSM, Called him he listened to everything acknowledged that it’s not normal for this much delay and said he will arrange the car and share me a tracker asap. He didn’t called back with response for 2 days. I called him after 2 day, he kept cutting it. I called 2 times and till now No response or Anything.
I then reached Sierra’s Instagram handle, DM’d over there. They replied, took my details and the next day a different person from dealership called me and listened to my problem and said he doesn’t have any idea about it and will assign someone else. Till now no response from him as well.
We are willing to spend a very huge amount of almost 25L and on top of that we are expected to explore and reach multiple authorities within Tata motors just to get our car delivered for an auspicious day we intimated 5 months ago?
I need some suggestions on what should I do in this situation?
Cancelling is an most apt option but on the other hand, the demand of the vehicle is also there.
