Oh hey
I didn't know this sub exists. I work at a very small tree company of six people including the owner. It used to be seven but the new guy quit a couple weeks back because the boss had a vein popping meltdown at him rather than teaching him calmly. The owner is very smart, capable, but a total fucking dick when he's on site and I think I'm going to quit, just not sure how long to ride it out.
Every single day he will have several moments of anger & stress to the point where I'm anxious to work with him. We use helmet communication on the job and for example today I asked him if it would be a good idea to spend a literal minute to do something that would ultimately make me feel safer (I was in the tree cutting & he was operating our crane) and he shouted THAT'S A WASTE OF FUCKING TIME I'M JUST TRYING TO GET THIS JOB DONE. Cool bud, how about you chill the fuck out maybe eat a fucking snickers. At least three interactions per day like that and I'm fucking tired of it. Dude, I'm trying and it's 95 degrees out, holy shit. I actually was certain on quitting a month ago for the same reason but he apologized later in the day. Either way, it just seems to be his management style to micromanage and have a complete fucking meltdown when you're not being his little puppet. What a fucking asshole.
