Earlier this year we had serious performance issues on Odoo.sh v15 with 20 companies. Got several recommendations: leave SH, move to dedicated server, restructure multi-company setup.

Before doing any of that we looked at the database. Found missing indexes and a lot of sequential scans. Added the indexes, performance went from critical to better than optimal.

Nobody suggested looking there first.

Is this a common blind spot among Odoo partners? Is SH actually the problem in most cases or is database indexing just something few implementers understand well enough to diagnose?

Been migrating 100+ custom modules from v15 to v19 largely solo using Claude Code connected directly via SSH to the instance.

Not just for code generation - using it for live diagnostics, reading logs, analyzing module dependencies in real time. Feels like the new baseline for technical Odoo work but surprised how few people seem to be doing this.

Anyone else working this way? Would love to exchange experiences with people doing semi-technical Odoo implementation with AI tools.
