Erreur serveur (403)

Bonjour

Depuis plusieurs jours, j'ai cette erreur lorsque j'essaie de me connecter. J'ai cru à une panne du site pendant un moment, mais ça dure et puis mes torrents sont tjrs bien en seed. Donc je suppose que le problème est ailleurs. Comment recevoir de l'aide ?

Merci

Qwant.com is temporary unavailable

It happens, I'd say, once or twice a month. Even though that might not seem like much, it's never happened to me with other browsers, as far as I can remember. What is that caused by?

Looking to switch (again) from Kindle Oasis to Kobo: Have these 4-year-old issues been fixed?

Hello everyone,

Four years ago, I bought a Kobo Libra 2 to try and replace my aging Kindle Oasis (9th gen). As a heavy Calibre user who sideloads everything (e-books, de-DRMed purchases, etc.), I ended up returning the Libra 2 because of several friction points.

Today, my Oasis is really getting old, and I’m considering giving Kobo another chance. Before I jump in, I wanted to ask the community if these issues I encountered back then are still relevant on current firmware and newer devices:

  • The Stock Dictionary / Translation Failure: Back then, the native Kobo dictionary was terrible at recognizing inflected verbs or simple translations. For example, when checking verbs:
    • "trusted" KOBO => "votre recherche ne correspond à aucun terme. Le terme le plus proche est "trustee")" (= it means ur research match nothing, the closest word found is..)
    • Same with "cleaned" => "votre recherche ne correspond à aucun terme. Le terme le plus proche est "cleaner")"
    • On the OASIS => it can give you the verbs and context, no problem. Is the native English/French translation still this basic and easily lost on grammar/forms today?
  • Sideloading Dictionaries (Bobotig's repository): To get a decent experience back then, I had to manually download and install third-party dictionaries from Bobotig's repository. Is this still mandatory today to get something usable, or has Kobo made installing custom dictionaries easier or improved their own?
  • "My Words" (Vocabulary Builder): On Kindle, the Vocabulary Builder is great for flashcards and reviewing words directly within their context sentences. On the Libra 2, "My Words" felt very clunky. You couldn't seamlessly swipe from one word's context sentence to the next to review them efficiently. Has this feature been improved at all?
  • Font Size Inconsistency: I noticed that font sizes fluctuated wildly from one book to another on Kobo, forcing me to resize manually every time I opened a new book, whereas Kindle kept a uniform visual size across sideloaded books. Is this still a thing? (Maybe a Kobo ePub vs KePub issue?)
  • PDF Handling: Back then, zooming into a PDF and turning the page completely broke the layout and off-centered the text on the next page. Does Kobo handle basic PDFs any better today?

I still love the idea of Kobo for its seamless integration with Calibre collections and series (which Kindle aggressively locks down).

Would love to hear from anyone who uses both or who has seen the firmware evolve over the last few years! Thanks!
