The year is 2040. The situation around the world has gotten much, much worse. In the wake of a violent civil war in North America and various worldwide mass casualty events, the balance of power has been violently twisted into something unrecognizable. Longstanding alliances have become strained, and the situation for Europe looks bleak. A reformed, expansionist United States government is rising up to the challenge.

In this unit's alternative timeline world, the Covid pandemic was an actually deadly plague that caused mass destruction and death around the world, leading to significant social unrest globally, and the collapse of the United States government as it devolved into a state of civil war. Without the United States in the picture, and Europe reeling from the effects of the plague, the Russian military performed aggressive expansionist conflicts in the region, easily overtaking Ukraine and various Baltic states. China, taking advantage of the situation, has begun military buildups and probing towards Taiwan and the rest of the pacific. As the United States recovers from years brutal civil strife, they will have to contend with a changing global power dynamic, and a new future conflict with cartel forces to the south, who have taken over South America in its entirety.

We are the 72nd Mixed Tactics Platoon, a combat-ready US Army Ranger platoon put together using remnants of US Army personnel who were stationed in the United States during the civil war, having seen some of the worst of the fighting at home. While the 72nd was mostly in charge of defensive duties around key military installations thus far, the significant unrest to the south will force the 72nd into a more aggressive, active role in the defense of the United States and her territories.

The 72nd Mixed Tactics Platoon is designed to offer a standardized semi milsim modern unit experience in the shadow of an alternative timeline universe, without any of the baggage that most modernslop units tend to burden their playerbase with. The primary goal is to offer infantry-heavy, semi-milsim organized gameplay, alongside some more unique elements that the average player likely has not seen elsewhere.

We offer exceptional levels of quality and standards within our operation design and unit organizational management. A significant amount of effort is invested into unit material, lore and worldbuilding, and overall mission design with a noticeable focus on quality and performance for our unit participants. We are, proudly, an actually modernized unit that tries to use newer mods when possible and avoid unnecessary mod bloat in our operations.

Unit Standards:

https://preview.redd.it/sy24bdrxuhbh1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=9590592852e26077360f7926b5027442e964df0c

This unit does not practice handholding, and while newer players can absolutely participate, their survival depends on their ability to adapt and potentially have to learn new concepts along the way. Training is focused on core unit concepts and procedures, and less so about how to left click your mouse button correctly. If you are looking for something a bit harder, or are a veteran player who already has lots of experience from other units, this may be the right fit for you. Any personnel who have left the game due to the rapidly declining mission design standards within the "community" (burning dumpster fire) will be happy to hear that we have faithfully continued to improve our methods and systems, and that we would be more than happy to have them return to the game to be with us.

- We're an 18+ unit with exceptions possible for 17+.

- You are expected to adhere to all rules and regulations in the unit.

- Legal copy of the game is required (Obviously).

- Microphone is required.

- This is a NA server that is open to global participants. You MUST be able to speak English fluently.

- 100 hours minimum required in the game, we are NOT new player friendly, but will accommodate newer players as much as possible.

- This is a no-frills hardcore unit that is for dedicated players, with no room for layabouts. High quality operations beget high standards from the players in the unit. There is a 50% (2/4) monthly attendance requirement for the mandatory Sunday operations hosted every week, pending certain holidays/events. LOA systems are present, but abuse will not be tolerated. This rounds up to a commitment of about 4 hours per month - if you cannot typically meet such a meager requirement we are not the unit for you. There are no unit trainings or other mandatory events outside of the scheduled Sunday slot, so overall commitment stays that low at all times.

- Passing BCT is required. BCT can be done 100% out of game since this is not a unit focused on appealing to new players, and trial-by-fire is an acceptable method of determining if someone may be allowed to skip it. Focused on keybind information and standards.

Unit Operation Times / Technical Information:

The main, mandatory event for the unit, which is currently the "Firm Indifference" campaign, is set on:

SUNDAY - 4:30 PM EST / 02:30 PM MST / 9:30 PM LONDON TIME

Any scheduled side operations for this unit, which are completely optional, typically happen around:

SATURDAY - Evening, EST time.

All mandatory events are hosted on that Sunday timeframe, including FTX's, and you will never have to commit more to the unit than potentially (if you request it) separate BCT timing, and the Sunday event.

As with any respectable unit, we have a variety of MOS options. They are:

Rifleman

Autorifleman

Marksman

Missile Specialist / AT rifleman

Corpsman

Engineer

As well as certain roles that require particularly high skill ceilings:

Squad Leader

The primary goal is to offer infantry-heavy, semi-milsim organized gameplay, alongside some more unique elements that the average player likely has not seen elsewhere.

We offer exceptional levels of quality and standards within our operation design and unit organizational management. A significant amount of effort is invested into unit material, lore and worldbuilding, and overall mission design with a noticeable focus on quality and performance for our unit participants. We are, proudly, an actually modernized unit that tries to use newer mods when possible and avoid unnecessary mod bloat in our operations.

Unit Standards:

Team Leader
