As a Colombian who lives in Canada I have little reason to celebrate about the Fourth of July, but there's an independent theatre that usually shows Jaws every year so every year I go.

My family and I had a fun conversation after. Imagine you're given the keys to Hollywood. You can bring mid-budget movies back. You can stop slop. You can enforce theatrical windows and make physical media big again. You can give as many blank checks to Ryan Coogler and Greta Gerwig and whomever you want.

But there is one price. You must remake Jaws. And you have to do your best to make it good.

Who do you hire to direct the remake? Who do you cast in the main three roles?

My buddy just started chemo and has asked me for recommendations that make him feel like Interstellar did the first time he watched it.

I want help sourcing recs. Paprika is an obvious one. Arrival too, although that has a cancer element that I'd rather avoid.
