Offline Support Kits - A New Support System For Mercs 1
Check out a short demonstration here!
What are Offline Support Kits?
Offline Support Kits are the other factions answers to the Mafia's Merchant of Menace. Faction relations will be much more volatile and harder to juggle in JE3.
Word travels quickly in North Korea. Doing contracts for a faction will certainly end up pissing off their competition, and they'll only get more and more bitter as the war progresses. Because of this, I thought it'd be necessary to provide an alternative "offline" support system not relying on the Russian Mafia.
Here's how OSK's work:
- One support kit per chapter for every faction, including 4 vehicles and one miscellaneous item (supply drops or artillery barrages)
- Kits will spawn outside faction HQ's on the start of a mission, and will be orderable at the start of missions
- Kits spawn as crates that include 5 new support items that you can equip to a grenade slot.
Mafia Shop Pros:
- Cheap and affordable
- Full inventory accessible at any time in free roam (up to what you've unlocked)
- Airstrikes available at any time
- Larger selection
- Civilian, NK and Russian Vehicles and drops
Mafia Shop Cons:
- No squads
- Middle - low grade equipment
- Limited helicopter selection (Only cargo copters, no attack helos or littlebirds)
- Susceptible to jammers
- Can't order helicopters during ace contracts
Offline Support Kit Pros:
- Higher quality vehicles and supply drops
- Full squads come with most vehicles
- Quick access from grenade slot
- Includes attack helos and littlebirds
- Jammer-proof
- Helicopters orderable in ace contracts (though these maps will be packed with AA to balance this out.)
Offline Support Kit Cons:
- More expensive
- Airstrikes not included except for artillery strikes (you'll have to rely on mission specific strikes)
- Limited to faction-specific equipment
- Uses up a grenade slot (you only have two, choose wisely)
