Cats with video cameras on their collar

There's a couple of cats in the street I live in in Hackney that have those little Insta 360 or whatever those little black cameras are on their collar that you see on TikTok and others in these cat videos. It's kind of odd to me because I get it - They're fun videos for everyone to watch what cats do. When out and about...

But there's one particular cat that just jumps up on my windowsill and sits there looking through my window for five or ten minutes at a time with the camera around its neck. No one from the street can see through my window because it's quite high yet the cat can get up. He basically sits there recording me for five or ten minutes. I'm not sure how I feel about this.

Anyone else seeing the ass video cameras on cats ?

I made a tiny app because my boss watches Teams status like a hawk

I made a small app called Green Dotter because my boss seems to watch my Teams status like it’s the stock market.

The annoying bit is, I’m usually still working. I might be reading something, thinking through a problem, on another screen, or just not touching the mouse for a few minutes. Then Teams decides I’ve moved to the sofa and sleeping... and suddenly the little status dot is telling lies.

I know people use all sorts of weird hacks for this. Phone on the mouse, PowerPoint running, balancing random stuff on the keyboard. I wanted something cleaner and less daft.

So I made Green Dotter 😄

It’s a simple little app for people working from home who want their computer to stay active without messing about.

I’d genuinely like feedback on the page, the wording, and whether it explains the problem clearly enough.

I built a tiny WFH app after getting annoyed with Teams status

I’ve been working on a small side project called Green Dotter.

The problem is simple: Teams can show you as away even when you’re still at your desk, just because you’re reading, thinking, watching something, or not constantly touching the mouse.

I know there are loads of silly workarounds for this. The classic phone-on-the-mouse trick, PowerPoint loops, random scripts, desk fan contraptions. Proper little goblin engineering.

I wanted to make something cleaner.

Green Dotter is a tiny app that helps keep your computer active so your status does not make it look like you’ve disappeared.

I’m still improving the site and positioning, so I’d really appreciate feedback from other makers:

  • Does the page explain the problem quickly enough?
  • Does it feel clear what the app does?
  • Would you trust/download something like this?

Here it is:
