Need Help - Birth control causing symptoms I never had before - Has this happened to anyone?

Hi everyone - I (24F) started Yaz birth control when I was 16 to treat painful periods and bad hormonal acne. At the time I definitely struggled with imbalances which I believe were caused by excess testosterone due to the really oily skin and hormonal acne.

This worked pretty great for me for years. If there was any weight gain or other side effects they were subtle and nothing I personally noticed. However, flash forward to about two years ago and some of the benefits I had seen were lessening and my body started going through weird changes. I should admit that there was a point where I was taking it irregularly (starting a new pack of pills sometimes 2+ weeks after finishing last and getting period). So part of me is thinking this have have contributed.

I started to experience skin dehydration and dryness rather than oiliness, weight gain especially in my abdomen and thighs, hair thinning, occasional skin tags, etc. all of this I could have honestly dealt with a gotten past- but last year when my grandfather had just passed away and I was grieving while simultaneously dealing with midterms and once again waiting too long to start my new pack of pills (by chance) - that’s when things took a hard turn.

Every since then I’ve struggled with gut issues, bloating, skin issues, skin dehydration, hyperpigmentation on my cheeks, dullness, weight gain, changes in hair texture, FACE PUFFINESS/fluid retention.

The face puffiness is a symptom I have especially never struggled with before. It used to be that my face was naturally quite slender to a point I’d complain. So at this point, I figure this must be a hormonal thing for sure. I’ve had plenty of the other labs done and overall everything else is in check except for some leaky gut I’m mending.

I’ve been taking Yaz steadily and responsibly for months now but the symptoms have only seemed to alleviate slightly- most still persist.

I am looking to see if anyone has ever dealt with a similar experience, and if so, what you guys would recommend? Should I stop birth control? Should I test my levels? Please, any help is appreciated here. I’ve really hit a wall and just want to feel like myself again.

Is this oral thrush? (Pt 2)

I’m posting another post with a clearer photo of my tongue just for extra confirmation from this community. Does this look like it could be oral thrush?

Is this a sign of candida?

Title says it - does the white residue buildup on my tongue seem like it could be candida? Any insights are welcome!
