KumaAlert v3.2 released! v4.0 AND ANDROID landing...

Hey everyone!

Over a month since our last update and we've got a few changes to talk about... Today we've launched v3.2 (along with a few minor changes since v3.0.0, full details below) and a few updates about v4.0 and Android Launch...

v3.2 - The Fast One: A huge update and architecture overhaul to speed up the app.

New Features:

  • Now notifies how long a monitor has been down - live outage in minutes/hours
  • Optional "last updated" caption on the widget - Thanks to JO for the suggestion

Performance:

  • Complete overhaul of backend architecture - heartbeat history now lives in memory instead of being repeatedly re-written to on device db.
  • The monitor tab no longer re-parses every monitor on each load, incoming status changes are applied at a steady rate rather than landing at the same time and freezing up.
  • Overview tab no longer consistently rebuilds itself - live average-responses update in place - No removed abilities/features!
  • The app now is much smaller and takes up less space, on first launch, it will clear all unused history.

v4.0 and Android

KumaAlert iOS v4.0 and Android v1.0 Launch on Wednesday 15th July - Including new features for iOS and the initial launch of the Android app following several weeks of development - I'm super excited to announce this launch, v4.0 will include several new features to take your Uptime Kuma instance to the next level, including incident management, incident timelines, emergency mode and a new Apple Watch app!

KumaAlert - Android Beta Testers

Hi everyone!

After loads of interest, we've now made KumaAlert for Android and opening up to Beta Testers in the coming week.

If you're interested then please head to: https://kumaalert.app/beta-android/ - We have limited spaces for the beta phase.

We're asking users to join the Discord so that we can actively collaborate on this next stage of KumaAlert, so unfortunately that is a hard restriction - if you can't join, don't worry - we'll be bringing KumaAlert to the public release as soon as possible!

As a way of thank you - anyone that takes part in the Beta Testing phase will be given a free copy of KumaAlert on Android for life!

Huge thanks to everyone for their interest so far.

New AppleTV App?

Hey everyone,

I'm a small Apple developer as a part time hobby at this point, started making apps at the start of the year and have been really enjoying it - I'm a big believer in making apps that I want to use or that I think are missing.

I've been looking for some time for a AppleTV app that is like a personal dashboard of sorts, showing weather, recent news, to-do lists, calendar events, integration into Home Assistant, health data (maybe target steps for the day, or steps yesterday?), maybe emails from VIP's that require response - Effectively a loads of different modules you can enable/disable.

My main want is because I have a disused Apple TV in my bedroom and I'd love to automate it to turn on to said app when my alarm goes off in the morning.

Does anyone have a want or need for this? Or is it too niche? Thoughts? Or have I missed something like this that already exists?

Thanks!

Bobby

KumaAlert v3.0

Hey everyone,

I just want to start by saying thank you so much to the entire community for ideas, bug reports and passionate debates on what this app should look like! When I started developing KumaAlert 3.0 I never imagined it would be as popular as it is.

Hugely excited to announce KumaAlert 3.0 - a huge upgrade on v2.0 and something I've been working on day and night over the past few weeks.

Full changelog at https://kumaalert.app/changelog/ but the exciting stuff first...

New Features

- iPad support

- Sign in with Apple + end-to-end encrypted sync. Your servers and settings follow you to every device.

- Per-monitor notifications - set each monitor to All, DOWN only, or Off.

- Live Activities for outages - Lock Screen and Dynamic Island timer while a monitor is down (iOS 17.2+) - Must use app notifications.

- Kiosk mode for wall-mounted iPads - full-screen dashboard, themes, alert tone

- Recovery notifications that show how long a monitor was down.

- Four louder tones - Siren, Klaxon, Buzzer, Fire Alarm.

- Attach notification channels to monitors from the Add/Edit sheet.

- Drag to reorder monitors and servers; drop a URL to start a new monitor on iPad.

- Plain-HTTP support for LAN, .local, and Tailscale addresses - Thanks to u/Ericbaudur

- Request timeout field and a "Show heartbeat bars" toggle.

Additionally: Loads of work has gone into performance to make the app less laggy without the need to reduce loads of features - there is also a toggle above to remove heartbeat bars that should make it smoother still.
