The Flag: Proper retirement of The Flag

As we enter in to the 2026 Memorial Day weekend, I thought it was a perfect time to "show how" to respect The Flag. Not, "a flag", but The Flag.

I grew up flying The Flag. Being presented with my father's flag, from his interment and serving under it for 3 years, 3 months and 6 days as a United States Army Infantry Soldier. I've worked for the federal government with the United States Postal Service and there are no regrets.

As a 4th generation combat veteran - it will be presented to my family at my interment. I know pain, suffering and sacrifice. You, private citizen, owe me Nothing. You do, however, owe those fallen EVERY DAY OF YOUR LIBERTY IN THIS COUNTRY!

Evil in NJ - beyond any level of understanding!

Paul Caniero - brutal November 2018 murders of his brother Keith Caneiro, sister-in-law Jennifer Caneiro, and their two young children, Jesse (11) and Sophia (8), at their Colts Neck, New Jersey home.I am sickened with the sight of this man. He is repulsive and disgusting.

"For what?" $$$$$? You should be ashamed, but you aren't.

I just pray your soul knows fire and DAMNATION!!!

My cousin, he's RETIRED (and doesn't know what day it is)

I love being introduced like that. My cousin invites me out to a lot of outings. His wife and twin girls, super athletes...so proud of them.

"You remember, my cousin. He's retired now. Do you even know what today is, cuz?"

No. No, I don't know and don't care. I volunteer and other wise enjoy life with my wife. Just waiting for my grandkids...when God blesses. Going on a "glamping" trip in a few weeks and then I wait for CFB and follow my other cousin that coaches in MAC.

Love retirement.
