Philco radio
Hi all, I have my dad’s Philco radio that I’ve been wanting to have restored and maybe Bluetooth installed. I happened to stumble across someone who does this at an antique show and he asked me to send pictures of the front and back of the unit to get an estimate. He replied to my email almost immediately saying that even though my unit has sentimental value, he has the same model already finished that he would do a trade for $1k. He had mentioned at the show that he charges about $1500 when people purchase one that he’s already finished.
I’m sharing pics of my unit if anyone can tell me anything about it or its value. Does his offer seem like a reasonable deal? I’d rather keep my family piece and find it a little strange that he jumped right into a trade even though he knows it’s sentimental.
