STOLEN BIKE PARTS — Wheat Ridge/Ward RTD — AirTag later pinged in Fruitdale
Someone stripped both wheels and the seat off my bike while it was locked at the Wheat Ridge • Ward RTD station.
I left the bike there Friday night, August 14, and came back around 7 PM Sunday, August 16. The frame was still locked to the rack, but both wheels and the seat had been taken.
The important part: I had an AirTag attached to the seat. After the theft, it pinged in the Fruitdale/Wheat Ridge area near the 10400 block of W 44th Place and the 4400 block of N Miller Street.
I’ve already filed reports with RTD Police and the Wheat Ridge Police Department.
If anyone lives or rides around Wheat Ridge/Ward, Fruitdale, W 44th Place, Miller Street, or the surrounding area, I’d really appreciate you checking any Ring cameras, security cameras, dashcams, or other footage from Friday night 8/14 through Sunday evening 8/16.
I’m especially looking for footage of someone carrying or transporting two bicycle wheels and a bicycle seat, or anything showing a person or vehicle leaving the Wheat Ridge • Ward station with bike parts.
If you saw anything or have footage—even if it seems minor—please DM me. A person, vehicle description, direction of travel, or approximate time could help.
Photos of the bike and AirTag pings are attached. Any useful information will be passed along to police.
Please keep an eye out, Colorado cyclists.
