Normandy private tour from Paris - itinerary help
Bonjour,
My parents are coming to visit me in Paris in October and my mom wants to surprise my dad with a tour to Normandy. I made a rough itinerary based on everything I've read online, but I have a feeling I've gone way overboard with too many stops in a single day... Here's what I have so far:
Leave Paris early in the morning.
First stop, Sainte-Mère-Église and the Airborne Museum.
Then Utah Beach.
Continue to Pointe du Hoc.
Afterwards, Omaha Beach and the Normandy American Cemetery.
Lunch in Port-en-Bessin-Huppain (thinking seafood, but open to recommendations).
After lunch, the Longues-sur-Mer German Battery.
Then Arromanches-les-Bains to see the remains of the Mulberry Harbour.
Finish the day with a walk around Bayeux and a visit to Bayeux Cathedral before driving back to Paris.
My dad is more into the D-Day history than taking photos,... so we would rather spend time at a few meaningful WW2 spots than rush through a checklist. Is this still too much for one day? Any places you would you skip/add?
Also, anyone know a private driver (or a company) that does this kind of custom day trip from Paris? Thanks!
