What is a marketing channel most businesses overlook in 2026 but shouldn't?

Feels like every business in 2026 is fighting over the exact same channels now. Google Ads are expensive, SEO takes forever, TikTok reach is unpredictable, and cold email inboxes are basically war zones at this point.

So curious, what is a marketing channel most businesses overlook in 2026 but shouldn't? For additional we are a regional local business if that helps!

What’s your "I hope my competitors never discover this" marketing strategy?

I feel like the best marketing strategies are usually the ones that don’t even look like marketing at first.

I saw a Reddit comment from a founder who said their highest ROI channel wasn’t ads, SEO, or cold email- it was answering extremely specific technical questions inside tiny Discord servers. Another thing I keep noticing is that a lot of competitors are obsessed with scaling channels, while the smartest operators seem obsessed with owning tiny pockets of attention nobody else thinks are worth the effort. The weird low-scale stuff often compounds the hardest because it’s difficult to copy authentically.

So curious, what’s your "I hope my competitors never discover this" marketing strategy?

Hi all- I have been using Semrush for a while but honestly it's gotten super complicated lately with multiple ad ons and what not! Also it seems like its meant for agencies over single businesses like ours.

Ideally I am looking for both SEO & AEO that helps us get cited on Gemini, Chatgpt and what not. But simplicity is probably the most important thing for me since time is probably the thing most of us in our team barely have haha!

Thanks in advance.
