General Questions

Hi everyone,

I finished the games twice, and I know that there are things that are intentionally left blank for the interpretation of the player, but there are things that I'm hoping to get some clarification on.

1- Do gestalts respawn with every cycle? It would be easy to explain how replicants respawn, but I'm having trouble understanding how bioresonance is powerful enough to essentially recreate humans with their memories intact.

2- In the Artifact ending, does the cycle end? There are other corpses of Elser, but none of them brought the artifact to the grave.

3- Who's grave is that in the Artifact ending? Is it Ariane? We do see her eye above, but it's not clear who's grave Elster is visiting.

4- Before picking up a copy of The King in Yellow, everything looks normal (besides Ariane's cryo-chamber). Does that mean that Ariane can only use her power on people who picked up the book? Also, is she in any way related or controlled by the Yellow king?

5- The photograph that Elster initially picks up looks to be of Ariane, but after picking up The King in Yellow, it transforms into a picture of who I assume to be Isa. Why wasn't Elster weired out by that? Elster also doesn't show the photograph to Isa, even though Elster has shown the photograph to other people.

Hi everyone,

I'm not attacking this book by any means, I just want to understand more about it.

I've seen a lot of references in books, tv shows, movies, and video games about the King in Yellow. I understand that the author popularized the fear of the unknown (encountering something unknowable, but far more powerful than the character). I also know and understand that H.P. Lovecraft took some inspiration from it, which is probably why we see the references.

But is there something else I'm missing? I really want to know.

Thanks 🙏
