Other documents: I-864, last 2 years tax return/W2 of sponsor, insurance plan you will be added on, detailed scrap book of time together before and after wedding with boarding passes and hotel bookings from travel, wedding album, medical records (mine were sent directly to embassy, I took a copy of my vaccination record just in case), husbands birth certificate and copy of passport, all passports held till now.

Interview experience:

I went to the embassy in Bombay 30 minutes before interview. You will be let in only based on your appointment time. There is a separate line for immigrant vs non immigrant visa. The appointment letter, passport and ds260 confirmation are checked. Also carry additional govt proof in case needed. There is a storage locker available for 200 rs for phone and electronics for which they only accept upi, however I didn’t utilise this facility. They do allow umbrellas that are compact but it’s thoroughly checked.

Once they let you in, there is a security check and they let you in to the actual floor.

Once inside, they separate you into queues based on language preferences for the interview and give you tokens. Constantly keep your eye on these monitors, they will tell you which window to go to.

The interview itself was 5 minutes each, the first one with an Indian officer and second with the American officer. The gap between both the interviews was about 45 minutes.
