Why did reptillians allow advanced technology?

I just have a question. If reptilians have been in our world for centuries, why did they allow us to have modern technology like the internet? I mean, if the reptilians want us to be ignorant puppets who live in fear, why not just keep us at 1950s technology?
Because with modern technology, high speed internet, YouTube, Reddit, handheld cameras, and mobile phones can all be used to expose reptilians because certain evidence can be recorded and spread at an enormously fast rate, so incidents cannot be detained by the reptilians anymore... For example, the amount of reptilian eye blinks that have been recorded, the amount of people sharing info about reptilians, and the fact that there is an entire subreddit dedicated to reptilians, while their main purpose is to hide in plain sight and control us from backstage.
If the reptilians kept us at 1950s technology, there would be total control over broadcasts since there are only a few channels, no accidental eye glitches because a) total control and b) the low quality analog static image can cover it, no phones that could record and spread proof online in seconds, no independent sources, no individuals having resources at the tip of their fingers to spread information, just hearsay from mouth to mouth.
Not only that, reptilians feed off fear, right? Well, with total control over the media and not being able to fact check as an individual, that's the easiest way to keep control over the population.
And it's not like the reptilians themselves can't use advanced technology because of us humans living with 50s technology. I mean, they came from fricking space centuries ago, and they know how to shapeshift. They don't need us using the internet to know what we are up to. They can suck our energy and have been doing it successfully for centuries, so why risk it by giving us the most advanced and powerful way of communication we've ever seen? And it's not like they couldn't stop this or whatever, because they control the media, the rich, the government, etc. So if a company wanted to build communication devices or the internet, they could have stopped it.
And yes, I know what a few probably are thinking, "but now we have algorithms that can detect exactly what you like, so the feed is making you into docile zombies that only care about liking, sharing and subscribing."
To my understanding, reptilians feed off extreme emotions? So braindead humans are not so yummy.
And besides that, you got to give the internet more credit than that... What about Pizzagate being exposed? Jeffrey Epstein... What Israel is doing to the Palestinians? It's all being exposed, no stone is left unturned... Every whistleblower, hacker, and regular folks who use the internet for knowledge, and not entertainment.
Back in WW2, approximately 6 million Jews were systematically killed during the Holocaust, and because there was no other media outlet, there was a lot of antisemitism because the narrative was completely controlled and manipulated. Plus, nobody knew the Jews were being killed at such a fast and controlled rate, because again, there was no other media source to verify the narrative.
People back then were way easier to manipulate, so why risk it all? That doesn't make any sense. Even The Matrix kept their flock in check by simulating the 90s so they wouldn't build another AI in an already AI world.
