I running a one player D&D campaign for my mom and would just love some tips from anyone on running such a campaign. I’ve done a couple before but some extra advice would be awesome!

I’m creating a bit of a gritty Real world sci fi fantasy type of story for her and would also enjoy some tips on that if possible!

I’m making a Modern Day Fantasy Campaign set in an alt Earth with Fantasy elements. The starting off conflict is my players kid is kidnapped and replaced by a Doppleganger. But after that point I’m completely blanking on a good BBEG or reason for the kids to be taken. If anyone has any tips or ideas it’d be greatly appreciated!
