Singing Jenny Owen Youngs - Voice on Tape.

Focus on my voice, rather guitar since I am still learning how to practice this song on my guitar.

I sound boring. I feel like I have no soul in my voice or personality. Jenny voice is very indie, clear, and has a-little country vibe to it. I want to embody some of that indie country vibes (NOT copy her voice). This song is mostly chest voice but some parts Jenny sings in light mix (et. “I got your voice on tape”)

Even when I sing other songs, like Beabadoobee music I sound boring, stiff, yk? I like my tone but I feel like I am always singing in chest.

Help me out as much as possible. Thank you so much. Specific feedback and help would be wonderful.

This is an emotional song, yet I sound boring. I created past scenarios in my head, to make me feel emotional, created meaning behind each lyric, and even changed up vowels placements. However, I truly believe that I sound soooo boring and like I am talking, rather singing.

What are some ways I can sound less boring? Is my voice just so bad? Please be very specific and clear!
