But if you look past the fairy-tale clichés, Once Upon a Time delivers a mature lesson about the raw power of dreaming and the necessity of hope. Mary Margaret captures it perfectly in the pilot episode when she notes, "Believing in even the possibility of a happy ending is a very powerful thing." In most television shows, dreaming is a passive wish. This show completely flips that script. It teaches us that dreaming is a fierce, courageous act of rebellion.

When you are buried under years of trauma, the easiest thing to do is give up. Expecting the worst is safe because it protects you from disappointment. In Storybrooke, choosing to dream of a better future isn’t childish; it is terrifyingly brave. The show proves that hope is a hard, daily discipline. It is the stubborn choice to look at a broken version of yourself and believe that the current chapter is not the final page of your story.

Ultimately, our dreams are the blueprints for our healing and happiness. As Snow White reminds us later in the series, "I choose hope. I can believe." Regina could not become the Good Queen until she allowed herself to dream of a life where she was worthy of love. Emma could not break the curse until she dared to dream of a family. The show beautifully teaches us that no matter how much darkness has been thrown over your life, your capacity to hope is the one thing no curse can ever truly steal from you. You don't dream because your life is perfect; you dream so you can find the strength to build a life worth living

Hey everyone, I just wanted to thank all you guys from the bottom of my heart for sharing all your fanfiction, hilarious plot holes and questions about our beloved show💜

So for a long time I was relentlessly teased by ex-girlfriends and old buddy’s because of my passion for OUAT due to the fact that I’m a 40-year-old straight white guy that is absolutely in love with this show from Day One…and they thought that was really weird, atypical or teased me that I was secretly gay 🙄🙄(Yes they are typical gym Bro’s, bless there hearts)

So I guess my question is how many other men have been day one fans and what made you fall in love with the show? Or your favorite quote!

I fell in love with this show because it felt like a bright beacon in the darkness that life can sometimes become and it constantly teaches us that our dreams are attainable..but only if we put the honest work into it( or a world shattering dark curse 🤣🤣)and more importantly, that we are ultimately the architects of our own happiness and “goodness”…Plus the ridiculous soap opera character arcs, Regina’s smoking hot dresses 💃the complex lore, rustic CGI and those themes of love, betrayal and hope..especially in the darkest moments of our lives
