Hi so my mom just told me that my Somali deadbeat dad is not my dad and she said my biological dad is from Eritrea specifically the Tigrinya ethnic group. She said when I was born he wanted my name to be Zekarias but since my mom was in a different relationship with a Somali guy at the same time she didn’t want to be shamed so she got married with Somali guy and named me Zakariya the Muslim version.Can I identify as Eritrean? if I say I am I feel like a fraud. I wanna find my dad and reconnect so how can I?
