Is there a good market for chemistry?

I've been a successful tutor in offline space teaching science and specifically chemistry.

Is the market significant for teaching chemistry all international boards upto 12th?

I've applied to 1. preply 2. Amazing talker 3. Tutor ocean. Which other platforms should I consider for chemistry tutoring?

And any tip would be helpful to start this journey smoothly.

Yes, I've kept my prices low for now and have made myself available for most peak hours.

Any Chemistry Tutors?

Just started on Preply as a Chemistry tutor after teaching students offline for the past few years, mostly IGCSE/IB students.

Honestly, the whole beginning phase feels a bit weird 😅
You optimize your profile, record the intro video 17 times, adjust pricing, open tons of availability slots… and then just stare at the dashboard waiting for life to happen.

I’m starting at $5/hour for now mainly to build reviews and momentum first. Trying to figure things out properly instead of rushing.

Would genuinely love to hear from other Chemistry/STEM tutors here:

  • How long did it take you to get your first regular student?
  • Did Chemistry take longer to grow compared to language tutors?
  • What actually improved your trial lesson conversions?
  • Anything you wish you knew when you first started?

Would love to hear real experiences, especially from fellow Chemistry tutors because sometimes it feels like 90% of Preply is English teachers 😄
