Is another Go community on Reddit beneficial?
What do other Go players on Reddit feel about this community, r/learngogame?
I wonder, where we already have r/baduk and r/gogame, not to mention badukshitposting and one for professional games, whether it is useful to have this as well. It appears to have been recently created by u/HorseTylenol, as this is the first post not by them.
On the positive side:
* It may keep the other communities free of repetitive beginner questions.
* Some beginners may feel less hesitant about posting in a community aimed at them.
On the negative:
* Beginners may be less likely to find what they need.
* The other communities are relatively small as it is, and it is a shame to fracture them further.
* We are all learning Go anyway, and it is hard to draw a line between what belongs here or elsewhere.
* R/baduk already has a beginners' flair.
* Users who could give useful advice may miss questions posted here.
* If questions here are also posted to other communities, that fragments the discussion.
If this community is found useful I feel it should state its target audience and its relationship to other Go communities more explicitly.
